An interesting project in which pop music and critical reviews of said music were processed by a computer formula in an attempt to create resultant music that was in "good" critical taste. Interesting results(mp3s provided), but it doesn't look like the rise of the machines is here quite yet.

What an interesting project. It is difficult to quantify what makes music "good". I think it is mostly our complex human emotions, and I'm not sure I'd like to ever quantify that.
ReplyDeleteYea, I agree it sounds very interesting, but wouldn't everything the computer produces sound the same? I also just have no idea how this program works - I'll have to read further.
